Support Sonny Davis's Return to the Waters

If you've ever crossed the Atlantic Beach bridge, chances are you've seen Captain Sonny Davis on his trusty Bait Boat, with his loyal dog always by his side. Sonny and Captain Stacy's Fishing Center have been cherished pillars of our community, offering fresh bait to local fishermen and creating unforgettable fishing trips for individuals and families for generations.

But on Wednesday, June 5, at the beginning of the crucial summer tourist season, disaster struck. While Sonny was out on the water working hard to catch bait for the weekend rush, he noticed his boat was beginning to take on water. He attempted to quickly return to the dock to unload the bait, but his efforts were in vain. The boat rapidly sank to the bottom of the creek. Thanks to the quick action of friends and Sea Tow, the boat was raised, but not without significant damage. The inboard engine was a total loss, and the boat needs extensive repairs to become seaworthy again.

Sonny Davis is more than just a fisherman; he's a legend. Over 60 years ago, he started the Captain Stacy Fishing Center, a cornerstone of our community. His Bait Boat has been a crucial part of the local fishing scene, ensuring that tournament and recreational fishermen have the fresh bait they need to succeed.

Now, Sonny needs our help. While his experience, ingenuity, and insurance will cover some initial costs, much more is needed to fully restore his boat. We are reaching out to the community to raise funds to get Sonny, his boat, and his faithful dog back on the water where they belong.
