I hope this message finds you well. I’m reaching out with a humble request for support during an incredibly difficult time in Sonja’s life.

Over the past 19 months, Sonja has experienced unimaginable loss. She has lost her mother, both of her sisters, and her brother-in-law. Most heartbreakingly, her sister Farah and brother-in-law left behind two children, Balian (17) and Uma (14), for whom Sonja has now assumed full financial responsibility, including all living and educational expenses.

Sonja’s world began to crumble when her sister Farah passed away in November 2023. Losing her was devastating beyond words. Since that time, Sonja has also been responsible for supporting her mother and her sister Intan, both of whom struggled with serious health conditions. The constant worry weighed heavily on her heart.

In December 2023, Sonja received the devastating news that her mother had passed away peacefully in her sleep. Throughout this period, Sonja and her husband traveled back and forth to Indonesia, doing everything they could to support Intan, her husband Victor, and their children from afar. Despite their efforts, the fear for their health never left.

Then, in January 2025, tragedy struck again when Sonja’s sister Intan passed away. Sonja and her family immediately returned to Jakarta to support Intan’s children and her husband, Victor. Sadly, just a few months later, in June 2025, Victor also passed away. In less than two years, Sonja lost her entire immediate family—her mother, both sisters, and her brother-in-law—leaving her feeling profoundly alone.

Sonja has remained standing only through the strength and love of her husband and her two daughters. Still, the emotional and financial burden of caring for her niece and nephew during this painful time has been overwhelming.

I have started a GoFundMe campaign to help ease some of the financial strain and to support Sonja as she provides stability, care, and hope for Balian and Uma, who have lost both of their parents.
