Meet Sonia and her amazing tribe of kids! Sonia is an amazing woman who has been through more than one can truly wrap their mind around. From being SA by those in her community as a child to being told to run drugs for her family to be able to eat, then to enter into a relationship that ended up being a brutally abusive relationship which lasted 7 years and entailed things such as being stabbed, beaten unconscious, and locked in rooms with no bathroom, a jug of water, and occasional food while being pregnant with his children, she finally gained the strength to leave and never look back.

After moving into a family member's home where they didn't have enough beds so some were forced to sleep on the floor, she was able to start a life skills and parenting program to help her connect and heal traumas with her kids and herself. She got a job and began working and having programs in the afternoons with her kids after school. One day, her son had cut marks on his wrist, and when all her kids told her someone in the home did it, she confronted her family. Her family exiled her and told her and her kids to leave. She found emergency housing and is determined to make a better life for her and her kids.

She was approved for her first apartment and is working to find a better job to pay the rent and other household costs. She's never lived on her own or away from her family in her whole life, and although she is scared, she knows it is what is best. Her move-in date is at the end of the month. We are asking if you have any ability to help this single mother out to get on her feet and make a better life for her kids pleae donate what you can. ALl funds will go to her directly, it will be used to purchase things such as beds, kitchen utensils, linens, furniture, and then other amounts will be saved for rent and other bills she may incur as a renter such as SRP and phone bills.
