Hi, my name is Annie and I am Keegan’s Mom.

As some of you may know Addie and Keegan gave birth to a precious baby girl, Sloan Grace Haldeman. She was born Aug 28 at 8:13am she weighed 7lbs 11oz and was 19” long. Sloan was breach so going into this Addie and Keegan knew that a C-section was a possibility, but there was hope that they could possibly turn her using the ECV procedure. Sloan was not having it so they converted to a C-section right away but she was wedged under Addie’s rib and it ended up being quite a traumatic delivery. Once she was delivered thats when everyone became aware of the little secret miss Sloan had been hiding on every ultrasound before that day. Sloan has a Bilateral cleft lip and palate. So within 5 hours of delivery Sloan was taken from mom and dad. I flew with Sloan to Children Mercy Hospital in KC, where mom and dad joined us 24hrs later. The doctors concern was her being able to get the nutrition she needed to thrive. We have now been here for a week and her feedings have been a struggle. She has dropped in weight to 7lbs and is only gaining back small amounts of grams each day which is also concerning to the doctors. The plan is to do a swallow study and will have surgery to place a G-tube soon. The main goal for them right now is her eating. Sloan and her parents have a long road ahead of them and many trips to KC. Sloan will need multiple surgeries to correct her lip and her palate over the next year and maybe even more as she grows.

Anyone who has been in their shoes knows how draining this situation can be emotionally, physically, and financially. Knowing the power of prayer we wanted to get Sloan’s story out there and ask for you to lift up Sloan and her parents. Many people have asked how they can help relieve some of the burden for Addie and Keegan in this time. So I have created this to help them with bills, fuel back and forth and food while away from home and work.
