On January 26, Liliana Solís, a single mother of two children, went to her mandatory immigration appointment. When she arrived, the USCIS Minneapolis office, the office she was instructed to report to for the appointment, was closed without explanation. As she went to leave, multiple plain clothes agents with DHS badges detained Liliana. Her 6-year-old daughter was with when this happened and was inconsolable.
Liliana is the only parent in their lives and carries the full responsibility of providing, caring for, and advocating for her children on her own. Her daughter is 6 years old, and her 10-year-old son has special needs, which requires additional care, time, and resources. Liliana is a loving mother, a kind neighbor, and hard worker in pursuit of a better life for her children.
Liliana has very limited family support nearby. Aside from the children’s grandparents on their father’s side, she does not have much family to lean on. During this difficult time, she needs immediate support with legal funds and funds to help care for her children.
