Hello, my name is Camille Swanson and I am trying to raise funds for my mom to get a car that meets her needs.

My mom, Silvia, is one of the strongest people I know. In 2021, her life changed overnight when a sudden and still unknown spinal infliction left her paralyzed from the waist down and in her face as well. Since then, she has fought every day to regain independence and mobility.

She has received a really incredible new wheelchair that grant her more mobility and freedom! She longs for more freedom however, with a car with a ramp that she can drive with her hands!! She has gone to driving lessons and has done a very great job- so much so, that she is approved to get a car with the necessary conversions!!

I wish with all my heart that I could buy this car for her- however that is not the situation I currently find myself in. That is where this go fund me comes in!! With your help- we could at least help with the cost!! A wheelchair-accessible car with hand controls and the necessary modifications costs around $59,866.36. Our goal is to raise as much of this amount as possible to help cover these expenses!

This car wouldn’t just be transportation- it would mean freedom to run errands on her own, visit friends, go to doctor appointments/physical therapy, and feel the independence she’s been fighting for.

Desde entonces, lucha día a día por recuperar su independencia y movilidad.

Recientemente recibió una silla de ruedas extraordinaria que le brinda mayor movilidad y libertad. Sin embargo, ella anhela dar un paso más hacia su autonomía: contar con un vehículo con rampa que pueda conducir utilizando únicamente sus manos. Recientemente tomó clases de manejo y ha demostrado un desempeño tan sobresaliente que ya fue aprobada para obtener un automóvil con las conversiones necesarias.

Con todo mi corazón desearía poder costearle este vehículo, pero lamentablemente no me encuentro en esa situación. Es por ello que acudo a esta campaña de GoFundMe. Con su ayuda, podremos al menos contribuir al costo. Un vehículo accesible para silla de ruedas, equipado con controles manuales y las modificaciones necesarias, tiene un valor aproximado de $59,866.36. Nuestra meta es recaudar la mayor cantidad posible de este monto para ayudar a cubrir estos gastos.
