Support Sherri’s Peaceful Hospice Journey

As many people know, my stepmom, Sherri, has been a pillar in my family and a second mother to me. She’s my dad’s best friend, an amazing mother to her 17 year old daughter, Ava, and a loyal friend to those who meet her.

Over the years, she has acquired health conditions that challenged her and changed the way she lives her life. My dad has always been by her side, diligently tending to her health needs, including home dialysis, frequent doctor’s appointments, and long hospitalizations. As imagined, this required him to give up time working a traditional job, to be able to take care of his wife and give her the best quality of life possible, in spite of her health issues.

In the most recent months, she had become more ill, with liver failure becoming a new reality for her. With no option for transplant, she has decided to make the last days of her life comfortable and transition to hospice. I am reaching out to our friends, family, and community to help support Sherri, Ava, and my dad as she transitions into home hospice care.

As she faces this difficult stage in her life, we are doing everything we can to ensure she is surrounded by love, comfort, and dignity in her final days. Although we knew this day would come, we never imagined it would arrive so soon.

We are seeking your support to help cover some of the costs of end of life, as my dad has been unable to work while caring for Sherri. He deserves to be by her side in her final days, not worrying about finances. Every contribution, no matter the size, will make a difference in helping us provide the care and support she deserves during this challenging time.
