Hello, my name is Miranda Meyers. This GoFundMe is for my mom, Sheri Meyers, who recently lost her means of transportation due to a car accident. She has worked at Southgate Animal Hospital for the past 11 years and is the hardest worker I know, often working 6 out of 7 days of the week. Her car is just a sliver of what has gone wrong in her life in recent years, and I know these things can really help people in need. My mom is the most selfless, caring, and beautiful human being I have ever met, who won't hesitate to give her last dollar to someone else in need, will cry at the sight of a homeless person on the corner after digging through her purse for any and everything to try and help, who is the glue of our family and the person everyone in our family looks to when we need help ourselves because she would never hesitate to do anything for others and never has. Sometimes people just need a helping hand to help get back up after being knocked down so hard, or so many times, and even a donation of $1 will help towards my dream of making my mom's life easier and better.
Three years ago this December will mark the day all of our lives changed forever when her son (my brother) Jovan passed away 15 days before Christmas. After someone like that dies, no one in the family will ever be the same because the version of you that existed before they passed is also gone with them. And not long before Jovan passed, so did her father (my grandpa), and not long after Jovan died, her and my dad decided to get a divorce after 30 years together. I've watched my mom get onto a never-ending roller coaster of very few, if any, highs, but mainly lows. If it isn't bad enough losing a child, she recently lost her soul animal, "Stella," who was a high-spirited, silly, sweet French bulldog who was my mom's soulmate. She had to pay so much money for Stella to have a good quality of life over the years because she suffered from terrible allergies and was on expensive medications and food her entire life. She got glaucoma in both eyes later in life and had to have one of her eyes removed a few months ago, and then started having seizures to top it all off.
Through all of these tragedies, my mom has an unwavering love for God, which is inspiring because with so much loss, it can make one question things. It's just one thing after the other going wrong for her, and it's so sad and hard to watch knowing there's little to nothing I can do to help her. I've watched her struggle so badly financially, and it breaks my heart. To go to your mom's house and see nothing edible in sight, to see her sit on the corner of her bed, which has become her favorite spot, sit there and cry and not know what to do is a pain I never would wish on anyone. I really hope this story meets the right audience and that a miracle can happen for a person who no longer believes in miracles. I don't know anyone else I could say is more deserving of something great and spectacular to happen for them. She needs a new car, she needs money for a savings account for when things spontaneously go wrong, she needs money for everyday living. My hope is for her to have to worry even just a little less. Thank you to everyone who has made it this far into my mom's story, and I also thank you if you choose to decide to donate your own hard-earned money towards someone I think REALLY deserves and needs it.
