Hello, my name is Zakary Elias but my close ones know me as “ace”. On friday 02/05/2026 at approximately 11:13 PM, my very close friend and beloved parkview high school student Sheldon Lewis was involuntarily shot and killed by a stray bullet coming from the next door room in the extended stay hotel him and his family were staying at. His family was currently in the process of moving into a house. As some of you may know, sheldon is a straight A student in school, he is not involved in any gang activity, he does not engage in physical altercations, he had no ongoing or underlying “beef” with anyone, he was just a happy kid living his young life as he was only 17 years young. I met sheldon once me and his sister Tomyia lewis began dating in july of 2024, since then, i’ve grown to become very close with sheldon and doing pretty much everything with him. I used to play football with him, i used to play basketball with him, we’ve been to countless parties and events and family fun centers together, nonetheless, sheldon was pretty much a brother to me rather than a friend. The reason i am writing this Gofund me instead of one his relatives is because i would like to allow them to have the time to grieve and cope and process what just happened. This is a very difficult time for the Lewis family and we would greatly appreciate all the help we can get to go ahead and get this funeral booked and started. Anyone who would like to chip in, myself and the Lewis family would greatly appreciate it in a way we couldn’t even put into words. if you’ve made it this far, i wanna say thank you, and to anyone seeing this that was close to Sheldon, my deepest condolences go out to you as i understand that this is a very difficult thing to process and accept. I was there, The Lewis’s were there, we all witnessed the whole thing so we are all going through a very difficult time. Again i wanna say thank you to anyone who took the time out of their day to read this long paragraph and i ask that we all keep God in our prayers and cherish your moments with your loved ones!!! as i fear, because of what i just witnessed, that something like this can happen to anyone, at anytime. Once again thank you everyone and please stay safe in this crazy world!
