Hi, my name is Shawnee Duffy. My son Evan, who just 3 days ago was a normal kid who honestly is the best kid you could ever ask for, he never liked to get anyone mad so he would do anything to please you, had a psychotic break out of nowhere. He went from a sweet, innocent kid to thinking everyone was out to hurt him, including me and his father. He was talking nonsense, and we ended up in the emergency room. He is now being transferred to a facility that is supposedly the best in NC for an indeterminate amount of time, but it is 4 1/2 hours from me.

I'm raising money to help me stay near him. I also have my rent and bills where I live now that still have to be paid. I was in the middle of job hunting when this happened, and obviously, I have to stop searching for a job for now, so I'm not going to be working. The money will cover my bills in Charlotte and my room and board near the hospital where my son is.

I'm not a religious person, but please pray for my son to get better. He is the best thing that ever happened to me, and I wouldn't know what to do if I couldn't get him to come back to me. So please, if you can't donate, at least share this with your friends. Anything helps.
