I am Shawn Sullinger's sister. Shawn is my oldest sister. She has battled Scleroderma since she was a teenager. Early on, the doctors said she would die very young, have no children, and there is no cure. She is now 54, has 2 children, and 4 grandchildren. My disabled sister has lost Medicaid and been denied her reapplication 5 times. She has recently been diagnosed with stage 4 lung and bone cancer, on top of living with Scleroderma. Even with all of this, her faith and positivity haven’t wavered one bit. She still says, “life is beautiful,” and she means it. She’s preparing to start chemo soon and trusting God through every step. Her strength, peace, and grace are a reminder that no matter what we face, we never face it alone.

“Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:10
