This morning (November 13th 2025) I received some very sad news from my close friend who has been in my life for over 15 years and who has been there for me for the best and worst times in my life. It’s my turn to be there for her when I can’t be there physically and I know she has a long and rough road ahead and she is not one who will ever ask for help. Shannon and Austin who were just recently married on September 15th, cut their wedding short as Shannon’s dad unexpectedly fell ill and passed away just 10 days later on September 25th. Shannon lost her dad and best friend that day. While grieving the loss of her father, she did not get to experience the joy of being a newly wed like she should have been able to. Tragedy again struck this morning on November 13, not even 2 months after the loss of her father, she lost her husband in a tragic accident. The sudden loss of her beloved husband is unimaginable and "soul-crushing.” I cannot even imagine the profound shock, pain, and emptiness she is feeling.
