On New Year’s Eve 2018, Shan was run over by a drunk driver, a fellow partygoer she was attempting to prevent from driving home. She is currently in the hospital, suffering from 10 broken ribs and 2 broken vertebrae.

Shan faces a long recovery ahead, preventing her from working as a medical resident. Her partner, Darcy, and 5-month-old daughter, Hazel, face challenges as well as they help Shan in her recovery.

Funds raised will go directly to Shan, Darcy and Hazel to help ensure a speedy recovery, and make sure all necessary resources are available to care for the family.
