SFC Matthew Ortiz has been selected to conduct the Mt.Everest Base Camp movement in Novermber of 2026. Matt is currently a Ranger qualified parachutist in the Army Reserves and serves in his civilian time as a Fire Marshal and EMT. Matt has led a double career of clandestine small unit operations, mountaineering mastery, and over 15 years of service in both full time and volunteer operations in the emergency service community. Matt is also accompanied by his service dog Scout and is a father to his teenage soccer star.
