We are raising funds for our son Seth’s family during a hard and uncertain stretch. Things took a surprise turn this week when our daughter-in-law, Amanda, was admitted to the hospital for the safety of her and the baby because of severe preeclampsia. She is expected to stay there until delivery, likely for at least five weeks if she delivers at 34 weeks.

Amanda is a small business owner, so while she is in the hospital, she is not able to work. At the same time, Seth will do his best to keep up with home, work, and caring for their 3-year-old daughter, Alice, on his own. Day to day, they are carrying the stress of worrying about Amanda and the baby’s health while also trying to manage the income they will be missing during this time.

The funds raised will help with bills, ongoing expenses, and things needed for the new baby while Amanda is unable to work and they do their best to keep the business going. More than anything, this would give their family a little breathing room while they get through these weeks and take things one day at a time.
