Hello! My name is Sonya and I am the mother of my beautiful daughter, Serenity. My daughter was born with a congenital disability called Arthrogryposis, also known as AMC. It is a condition that causes contractures of her muscles and joints. She also had surgery for a tracheostomy and g-tube. She has a swallowing disorder, vocal cord paralysis and a number of other conditions. We don’t know the severity of her mental state . We would have to wait until she’s older to know.  She isn’t able able to breathe, talk or eat on her own. She will also need multiple surgeries in the future.

We would have to move in order to bring her home. That is my goal. Currently, me and her father are living in a small attic with limited space. Serenity’s father has been let go from his job recently. I started this GoFundMe for things like gas money, car maintenance, food, rent, clothes for Serenity and other expenses. We also had collectibles stolen from our storage unit that we were going to sell. The collection was worth thousands. All of these events are causing our family a lot of stress. I also struggle with my mental health. I am a first time mom and not knowing that my daughter was going to be born this way was truly heartbreaking. I promised her I would do anything for her.
