It is incredibly difficult to ask for help, but even harder to watch someone you love suffer. My aunt, Semiye (49), who has spent her life caring for others, is now fighting with stomach cancer that has spread to her other organs, and we are doing everything we can to support her through this painful journey.
From my earliest childhood memories until today, my aunt has been one of the most important people in my life. She has always supported me, believed in me, and stood by me with love and pride. She is the kind of person who gives endlessly, a woman whose life has been devoted to helping others.
For many years, she has voluntarily supported families in need, especially orphaned children. She helped provide education, daily necessities, and better living conditions, always placing others before herself. She has been a pillar of compassion and strength in our community, touching countless lives through her kindness and selflessness.
Today, it breaks our hearts to see someone who has given so much now facing such a difficult and painful battle. This devastating diagnosis has brought immense physical pain, emotional strain, and uncertainty, not only for her, but for our entire family. Despite everything she is going through, my aunt remains incredibly strong and hopeful. Her courage inspires us and gives us strength during the hardest moments.
Our greatest wish is to support her through this journey, to ensure she receives the care she needs and to ease the heavy burdens that come with such a serious illness. The funds raised will be used to help cover:
- Medical treatments and expenses not fully covered by insurance
- Medications and pain management
- Transportation to medical appointments
- Daily living expenses while she is unable to work
- Ongoing care and support during her treatment and recovery
More than anything, we pray and hope that she can overcome this illness and one day return to the community work she loves so deeply. She has spent her life lifting others up, now it is our turn to lift her up.
Any contribution, no matter how small, will make a meaningful difference. If you are unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser or keeping my aunt in your thoughts and prayers means more than words can express.
Thank you for taking the time to read her story and for showing compassion and kindness during one of the most difficult moments of our lives.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Selma
