Meeting the Divine Mother, a Devoted Yogis Journey

“(Wo)man cannot fully find himself except through a sincere gift of him(her)self.” - John Paul II

Dear Beloved Beings,

On Saturday, December 11th, I will be embarking to Mexico City to celebrate the annual Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe. From there on I will be backpacking through various cities in South America, Europe and Africa where I will visit various sites dedicated to the appearance of Mother Mary.

A principal part of my path as a devotional yogi is to dedicate my practice to a higher, divine force that nurtures, supports, and protects all beings unconditionally. Along the way I will to embody that of both a student and teacher. Much of my time will be spent studying universal yoga philosophies and techniques taught by various teachers, masters and mystics. I will be working diligently to take what I have learned and teach alongside my dear friend and fellow yoga instructor, Damien (Pir) Douglas - founder of Pir Yoga and The Rose Yoga Foundation.

My overarching goal is to complete my journey in Rwanda, Africa where I will visit our Mother of the Word in Kibeho and volunteer as a yoga teacher with Humanity Unified -  a non-profit that has quite literally planted a profound seed of purpose to empower women and children with trauma. Humanity Unified’s “Food Forest Project” shares an explicit intention to empower women in the Huye District by creating employment, decreasing malnutrition, promoting regenerative agriculture, and healing through yogic principles.

It is my mission to make a holistic impact on the hearts of others and immerse myself in opportunities that ignite joy and empower an energetic surplus of energy with every step I take. My long-term vision as a yoga entrepreneur is to empower, mentor and teach women and children around the world to rise in love and move from victims into vigilance, from survivors to thrivers. Whether it be worldly wounds (lack of shelter/nutrition/wellness due to extreme poverty) or psychological trauma (physical, sexual or emotional abuse), it is time to take a step for women who are suffering from generations of abandonment, abuse, and impoverishment. I believe that when we invest in women, we invest in the world. There are radical resources to resolve relational traumas so that our caretakers can feel safe and in tune with their body, mind and soul.

To stay in contact, I have created a mailing list. If you are called to follow this cause, please share your name and email address. I will be writing and reflecting, teaching and sharing. My hope and wish is that my words ignite a divine feeling in your body, spirit and mind. May the purpose of this meditative exploration be to absorb various teachings, give the gift of yoga, and walk each other home.

“We make a living by what we get, we make a life by what we give.”

Thank You & Namaskaram.
Om, Peace, Amen.
