The Anderson Family - Displaced From Hurricane Helene

My name is Sean Anderson. I'm a married father of two, and I'm creating this GoFundMe to try and raise money for a down payment on a home.

We live in Augusta, GA, which was recently hit by Hurricane Helene, and the property we rent was unfortunately one of the many affected. We have been displaced from our home since September 27th, this is the same property we've rented for the last thirteen years, my children have only ever known this place, this is their home. I have been in contact with our landlord and have tried to work with them as well as I can, but the situation is turning into something I can no longer financially justify. The roof has several holes, and when it rains, it leaks water into two of the three bedrooms; the concern of mold and health risks has now become a very real issue. As of this posting, no repairs have been made, but I've been expected to, and have, kept the rent paid and up-to-date. Last week, I received a letter from our landlord explaining that we need to find another place to live.

Since the beginning of this ordeal we've been staying with my wife's parents who graciously took us in, but that situation is quickly becoming one that is putting extra stress on both us and my in-laws. Eight people crammed into a three-bedroom house is just not something that can work long-term. I'm not one who generally asks for help; I have always tried to work hard for what I own.

I've worked independently over the last few years with a loan agent and have been approved for several loans and explored multiple down payment assistance programs as well. Even though I'm qualified for these loans/options, I simply don't have enough saved up to comfortably cover all the fees and closing costs which are expected at the end of the day.

I'm honestly just trying to raise enough money to put towards a down payment on a home of our own; I just want to provide a safe place for my family and a house to finally call our own. Any donation, large or small, would be greatly appreciated.
