My 19 year old son, Sean Kamara, was the victim of a shooting that happened on the southside of Des Moines on February 14th, 2026. Sean was shot four times and rushed to the hospital, where he underwent emergency surgery. Thankfully, he is now recovering, but the road ahead is long and uncertain. As his parent, seeing him go through this has been incredibly difficult, but I am grateful every day that he is still with us.

The aftermath of this tragedy has brought many unexpected challenges. We are facing significant hospital bills, and Sean will need ongoing physical therapy to regain his strength. We also need to hire a lawyer to help us navigate the legal aspects of this situation. On top of that, Sean had plans to attend college, and we want to make sure his future is still bright despite what has happened.
