Support Scottsville Ice Arena's Recovery

Donation protected
On behalf of the Flower City Special Hockey Eagles, I am writing to express our support for the Scottsville Ice Arena and to highlight the invaluable role they play in our organization and the greater special hockey community.

The rink owners are great people and a great hockey family and care deeply about the local community and need our help and support even more so today.
The rink suffered a major setback with a sprinkler pipe bursting over the ice, which is going to require time and a lot of work to get it repaired and the rink back open.

Scottsville Ice Arena has been more than just a facility for us—they have been a steadfast partner, providing a welcoming and inclusive environment where our athletes can learn, grow, and thrive both on and off the ice. The arena’s management and staff consistently go above and beyond to accommodate our needs, ensuring that our players with intellectual and developmental disabilities have a safe and supportive space to enjoy the sport they love.

Over the years, Scottsville Ice Arena has generously offered us prime ice time, often working around our unique scheduling needs. They have helped us host tournaments, skills clinics, and special events that bring together athletes and families from across the region. Their commitment to accessibility and inclusion has allowed our players to build confidence, develop friendships, and experience the joy of hockey in a way that would not be possible without their support.

The positive impact of Scottsville Ice Arena extends far beyond the rink. By supporting special hockey, they are fostering a sense of belonging and community for our athletes and their families. Their dedication embodies the true spirit of sportsmanship and community service.

We are deeply grateful for all that Scottsville Ice Arena does for the Flower City Special Hockey Eagles and for hockey in general here in the Rochester area. We wholeheartedly support their continued operation and growth, and we urge others to recognize and support the vital role they play in our community.

Sincerely,
Michael Kita
