Hi everyone,
our dad, husband - Michael Schaefer - passed away peacefully on November 18th, 2025, surrounded by family, after a courageous eight-year battle with cancer.

Losing him has been incredibly painful, and our family has been carrying a lot—emotionally and financially—as we try to navigate this new reality. The unexpected expenses and the weight of this transition have been heavy, and we’re doing our best to move through it together.

One thing that brings us a bit of comfort is the idea of honoring some of the travel plans my dad always dreamed about. Fulfilling those wishes feels like a way to keep a part of him alive and close to us.

We’ve created this GoFundMe for anyone who feels moved to support us—donations will go directly to unexpected expenses, easing the strain on our family during this time, or helping us bring some of his dreams to life. This page was briefly shared last year - with the goal of helping with medical expenses and transportation to/from treatments, surgeries, procedures.
