I'm Tenaya....as you know. :)

What you may not know is I'm the proud auntie to an amazing young woman, Savannah, who is headed to Uganda....and she can use your help to achieve this dream! I am setting up this GoFundMe of my own volition because she is such a special and unique young woman, and I think she really deserves whatever assistance anyone can give. She has faced many personal battles already in her young life related to her health. Due to her health, she has missed out on a LOT of things young women of her age often take for granted. While her health may have slowed her down at times, it has not stopped her pursuing her dreams....or her desire to help others.

Savannah has diligently pursued her education: she recently graduated from high school, in addition to earning an associates degree. She is now preparing for a humanitarian trip with the International Language Program (ILP) to Uganda where she will be teaching English to grade school children. As a volunteer, this trip is costing over $10,000 (I incorrectly originally thought 7,000, but that is for the program alone, not for all costs to Savannah).

While working hard at school, Savannah has also held two part-time jobs and has been making monthly payments for her trip. She also organized a fundraiser, making and selling 90 chicken pot pies, to help offset the costs. She has earned the majority of the costs for the trip. However, she leaves in September, and time is running short for her to make the rest of the money. If you can donate anything to help her volunteer to help others, she would be so very, very grateful.

I know this young woman is going to do amazing things in life, and this is just the first step.
