A message from my friends, 25 year-old Saqr & Jenin, and their beautiful son Emad:

“Before the genocide, we lived in a beautiful neighbourhood and I worked in my private neighbourhood. I was very happy, me and my family, and we had a beautiful and warm house. We built our house out of happiness and love, and I had my own car which we worked hard for. We were alive. Our lives were very beautiful, integrated with our neighborhood and community and happy.

The war came and took everything from us.

Our beautiful home, my car, my study and our beautiful life. We have become without a home and without work. The expense of basic living is too high to bare alone. Your help is worth everything to us. I cannot buy health supplies for my child, and I want him to live. I want my wife to live. I want to live. Everything has become expensive and there is no source of income. Please help me and stand by me.”
