(Espanol abajo) Santos was taken by ICE while driving through a checkpoint on his way to work as a painter. His family was unable to communicate with him for days, as he was shuttled through multiple detention centers with inhumane conditions. Phone calls to ICE detention facilities were egregiously expensive and often ended without getting through to him. His wife, daughter and niece, were unable to make contact for long stretches, but through perseverance he was fortunately able to wish his daughter a happy birthday over the phone a week after being taken. They have now discovered that he has been deported.
He was the primary income-earner and his family is very concerned about being able to pay rent and meet other basic needs such as food and medicine. PLEASE help us support his family by donating anything you can! EVERY DOLLAR COUNTS. Please also share widely!
If you'd like to support by providing the Pineda family with a meal, contact us to coordinate. Thank you!

¡Gracias!
***The Prince George's County Immigrant Rights Collective (PGIRC) hosts Know Your Rights canvasses & trainings, and shares resources to protect immigrants impacted by ICE. We have found these impacted immigrant families through networking and organizing in our community around mutual aid and safety. All funds go directly from you to GoFundMe to impacted family members’ bank. It is often needed for legal services to free their loved ones, but it is also critical to ensure they can afford rent, food, medicine, transportation and other basic needs with the loss of income and the grief they are going through.***
