Sam woke up in his apartment to the smell of smoke in his room and the sight of flames in the ventilation system in the early hours this morning. His apartment building had caught fire.

He escaped with the clothes on his back, his dog, and his pet lizard. It is a total loss regarding his belongings. He will have to replace all household items, personal care supplies, clothing and shoes, his laptop computer (needed for full-time college studies), pet supplies and food, and many other necessities. He does have rental insurance, but I am hoping this gofundme can help meet immediate needs while he navigates the claims process and works through practical steps toward getting resettled.

Samuel had moved to a new state four months ago, following his childhood dream of pusuing a career in the field he's in. He secured his apartment and began furnishing it. He is just starting out in his young adult life and works full-time while attending college full-time. He wasn't prepared for a setback like this.
