Hey, I'm Sam/Echo and I'm reaching out for help as I prepare relocating to Canada in a few months. I have started the application process but between the cost of a work visa, legal fees and maintaining some level of security in Los Angeles, the cost is well beyond my means.

A little about me and my decision: I graduated with a master's degree in Marketing and Data Analytics, a field that is highly impacted by corporate shifts towards artificial intelligence. As an international student, the crack down on immigration under the current administration has made it even more difficult to secure a job. The current regulations also prevent me from applying to any kind of job. I'm in the process of selling various items in hopes to raise some funds and relying on my immediate community for assistance. Having to leave after building a life for myself over the last 8 years is taking a toll on my health and wellbeing. Moving is the only options left for me.

The cost of the work visa is $2000, while rent is $1000 a month; I am crowdfunding to meet these two most pressing expenses. My timeline is to move by August 2026 - 4 months from now. In total, I hope to raise $6000-$8000 in that time frame to avoid being homeless while I finalize the process and secure work in Canada.
