I am Samira Ali Darwish Al-Masharawi. I am 65 years old. I have 9 children and I live in Gaza City.
I am raising 9 children after my husband died 25 years ago, and I have suffered from cartilage disease for 32 years
I support my children and my family, and I have some sick children who cannot support their families, and I provide assistance to them for the sake of their children.
And now we are in a very bad and deplorable situation due to the war that broke out in the Gaza Strip since 10/7/2023, where we faced missiles that fell on us like rain, cutting off our bodies, destroying our homes, burning our crops and food, and contaminating our drinking, as we have reached a situation where we cannot find food, drink, clothing, or... Shelter, just as we cannot communicate with each other because we have been separated, dispersed, and displaced due to the bombing and destruction that affected all areas. There is no safe place. We flee here and there from death, bombing, and shells in search of a safe place. We find nothing but torture, displacement, humiliation, and death.
This is my son Muhammad. I still see him as my child. He is a professor and studied for 8 years at the university. He became an educator for generations and opened a private school and two kindergartens for children. He has 3 children who excelled in their studies and were smart. But he lost everything in moments when they destroyed his school and his house. Now he is trying to sell wood in order to provide food for his children.
This is my daughter Abeer. She has been an orphan since childhood and she is the youngest of my children. She is a psychologist and was supposed to obtain her doctorate this year. She got married 5 months before the war, but they killed her husband for no reason while he was in his car and bombed the psychological center where she works. Her heart breaks for her husband and everything she tried. His embrace of her future, there is nothing left of it, he is no longer. Her life has flavor or importance. Is this how we reward Abeer, O world??
We are at a loss for words. We will let the pictures speak. This is our final appeal for survival. We need your support to restore the lives of Muhammad, Abeer, and their mother, Samira, until they leave a safe and viable place.
