Hello!
I’m a Boy Scout in Troop 191 currently working on my Eagle Scout rank. For my Eagle Scout project, I’ll be organizing and leading a series of emergency skills clinics at three local Boys & Girls Club locations, and participating in a community health fair hosted by the Boys & Girls Club.
These clinics will include rotation stations where about 80 participants will learn hands-only CPR, AED use, and first aid skills. My team of trained volunteers and I will guide them through hands-on activities to help them gain confidence in responding to real-life emergencies. In addition, we will demonstrate hands-only CPR and AED use during the health fair to 40-50 people.
We will be distributing first aid kits to participants. Each kit will include a bilingual (English & Spanish) first aid educational pamphlet created by my team to help reinforce what participants learn during the clinics.
This project matters because many middle school through high school students at the inner-city Boys & Girls Clubs may not have easy access to first aid training or supplies. Learning basic emergency skills can make a big difference—especially when help isn’t immediately available. The first aid kits and hands-on training will give them the confidence to act in emergencies and help keep themselves and others safe.
Funds raised will go toward purchasing materials for the first aid kits, educational supplies, and other resources needed to bring this project to life. I will need to raise all funds before April 23th, as the collating of the first aid kits will be on April 27th.
If you would prefer to write a check, you can send a check endorsed to BSA Troop 191 to me at 3615 Via Palomino, Palos Verdes Estates, CA, 90274. It is a tax-deductible donation to the Boys & Girls club of Harbor Los Angeles, a receipt can be provided upon request.
Any kind of contribution will be greatly appreciated!
Thank you.
