Hello dear friends and family,
I'm reaching out today on behalf of my daughter, Samantha. Many of you know that her dad, Jeff, became very ill about three weeks ago. He was in a coma for nearly a week, and during emergency surgery, his heart stopped for approximately 10 minutes. By the grace of God and the incredible work of his medical team, he came back to us.
However, Jeff has now suffered an acute stroke that has caused immense damage. Samantha was able to be here for a week during the initial crisis, but as many of you know, she recently moved to Tennessee and started a new job. She had to return home and is now facing this heartbreaking situation from afar.
Earlier this week, the doctors called and told her it was time to make the difficult decision to place Jeff on hospice care—to make him comfortable and let him go peacefully to be with our Lord and Savior. Samantha knows in her heart that this is what her dad would want, but her heart is heavy with grief and guilt that she might not be there to say goodbye.
Because she just started her job, she has no PTO, and the cost of last-minute flights—on top of what we spent to get her here just a few weeks ago—is something she simply can’t manage right now.
First and foremost, we ask for your prayers:
Please pray for Samantha—for peace and strength as she navigates one of the hardest decisions a daughter can make.
Please pray for Jeff—that he may be surrounded by comfort, love, and the peace that only God can give.
If you feel led to help financially in any way to get Samantha home to be with her dad one last time, we would be incredibly grateful. Every little bit helps, and your support—through prayers, kind words, or donations—means the world to us.
John 16:22 (NIV): "So with you: Now is your time of grief, but I will see you again and you will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy."
