Support Samantha's Family Rebuild After Fire

Hi I’m Samantha.. I have 5 children. If you didnt' know my home caught fire the morning of May 6th. An electrical fire that spread rapidly devoured our home, and it was the most traumatic experience in my entire life.. We have lost literally everything... Thank god, 3 out 5 of my children’s schedules had them out of the home. Ezra and Norah were at school and Forest was about to be dropped off from spending the weekend with his dad and grandparents. It was just me & the twins.. The fire was so fast, i was only able to get one of my twins out.. This is a trauma that i will be healing from for the rest of my life. I tried, twice, to get Opal but the smoke was so black & so thick. I couldn't find her or feel her. I didnt remember to drop to the ground. I was panicking, I couldn't breathe, I was inhaling literal fire & my eyes were burning... It was pitch black but it was full daylight outside.. If it wasn't for Lotus (The other twin), I would've died in that fire looking for my baby... The moment I had to run out of that house is not one that I want to speak on at this time... But i did, I had to get out and I started screaming for help.

A 62 year old man, driving past, stopped his vehicle & I started screaming about my baby inside... He didn't hesitate one one second, he asked where she was and he went in that RAPIDLY burning fire, that I myself couldn’t face, to get my baby... He came out of the house empty handed & what little hope I had was gone... He asked one more time where she was & this absolute angel went BACK into that fire to get her. A couple minutes later, I was surrounded by my neighbors, theyre comforting me and Lotus, on their phones getting help, bringing drinks and blankets... But all I could think about was my Opal. My baby. My moon pie... I prayed to God, I SCREAMED, I sobbed to god to PLEASE dont let me leave without my baby SAFE & ALIVE...

I was in absolute hysterics... Then this man came running out to me with my Opal Moon, gave her to me & then he just about passed out on the tree lawn next to me. This is when the fire department finally arrived. The entire house was engulfed at this point and the fire department and EMS just now arrive.. 2 firemen were injured from the house collapsing.

The twins & i did 24 hours at the hospital & we were cleared & so was our Gaurdian Angel John. Opal sustained 2nd degree burns on her scalp and has been so strong.. She will be doing outpatient at the burn clinic. We have been in contact with Red Cross & will hopefully be receiving some help from them. We did not have insurance. We do not have a plan. But we are alive. This brings me to our fund raiser..

Due to banking issues the first fundraiser was shut down. You beautiful humans donated over $2,000 & I cannot express how much it literally changed our entire situation. We are avidly searching for a place to rent & the majority of the money donated will be allotted for a place for my family. Everything else will be keeping our heads above water & cleaning up whatever items we were able to pull from the house, which has been condemned; all while we find our new home.

We did not have insurance and I lost my only source of income which was rent out out the unit upstairs.
