Support Samantha Madole's Burn Recovery
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Dan Madole, and I am the uncle of Samantha Madole. Some of you may already know that on Monday evening, my 20-year-old niece was badly burned in a gas explosion and was flown to Iowa City for medical care. She is alive but has sustained burns all over her body, with the most severe (2nd degree) on her hands, arms, and stomach.
Samantha is a senior at William Penn University, pursuing a Biology degree. She was working as an intern for the Department of Natural Resources and staying on site at the Lake Rathbun Fish Hatchery when an undetected gas leak caused her travel camper to catch fire and explode. Everything burned to the ground, but somehow she managed to escape the structure before being rushed to the hospital by Life Flight.
She is currently at the University of Iowa Burn Center, with the expectation that her recovery will be long and require taking it one day at a time. We are not sure how long she will be in the hospital, but we anticipate she will have a lot to deal with in the coming months.
My niece is a smart, focused, loving, and kind person who has a difficult road ahead. She lost everything in this fire—her car, clothes, school laptop, books, phone—and will likely face some hefty medical bills. Any help is appreciated.
All donations will be managed by Samantha's father, Damon, on her behalf. We thank you all in advance for your generosity.
