Hi, my name is Sam and I'm raising money so that I can take on a massive walking challenge across the UK, covering more than 1,600 miles over 7 months, which will take me to the 4 extremities of the British mainland - The Four Corners Walk. I'll carry everything on my back and camp along the route, starting in April 2026.

I'm a primary school teacher from Suffolk and in Feb 2024 I received the devastating news that I have Parkinson's disease. I've decided to take on this epic challenge to turn a negative into a positive, to try and make a difference and help others like myself while I still can... but I can't afford to do that on my own.

My goal is to raise £100,000 for Parkinson's charities once I get walking, but to do this I will need to take a year out of teaching. Your donations to fund the project will help me to raise this money for charity by enabling me to walk whilst also supporting my wife (who has MS and can only work part time) and 16 year old son.

I will use the funds you help provide as follows: essential equipment, technology and travel; living costs and accommodation for me whilst walking; to replace earnings and support my family at home.

My goal is to multiply this 'Family Fund' by at least 3 once I get walking - 100% of which will then go direct to Parkinson's charities - as people respond to my expedition and donate via a separate JustGiving page, launching later in 2026. This means that for every £1 you donate, another £3 will become possible for the charity later on.
