Support Ryker's Eagle Project at LWC

Donation protected
My name is Ryker, and I'm a Life Scout in Scouting America with Troop 237 in Illinois, part of Rainbow Council. I am raising funds to support my Eagle project, which will benefit the outdoor prairie classroom at Lincoln-Way Central High School in New Lenox.

I will order and build 2 Trex benches anchored to the ground at the Lincoln-Way Central High School prairie. The prairie is used as an outdoor classroom for the Science department and club. I will also remove an old “LWC” sign from the outdoor classroom pavilion, which is adhered to a brick chimney. It will be replaced with a new, brighter LWC Knights logo.

  • The prairie is used for science labs to provide hands-on, real-world experience.
  • The outdoor area has a prairie, a pond, and a pavilion with a few desks and chairs.
  • There is no outdoor seating near the prairie and pond for student and faculty access.
  • The addition of outdoor seating will allow small groups of students to have a place to sit and study the pond and prairie area.
  • The benches would also provide an area for students and faculty to enjoy the area, enhancing school spirit and community.
  • The ‘LWC’ letters inside the pavilion are faded and in poor condition.
  • Replacing the letters with the Knight logo will bring a connection to the outdoor classroom area with the indoor classrooms, since the LWC Knights logo is found throughout the school.

Please help support my Eagle project and enrich LWC's outdoor classroom. Any funds raised over my goal will be donated to Lincoln-Way Central.

Sincerely,

Ryker
