Support Ryan and Stephanie's Fresh Start
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Josie and I am a parent to an amazing young man, Ryan Paul. Ryan and his fiancé, Stephanie, had relocated to Asheville, NC, in the past year. Ryan had shifted career paths and obtained an apprenticeship in the electrical trade, and Stephanie works as a massage therapist. They had set a wedding date of October 19, 2024, in the Asheville area. That is until Asheville was flooded by Hurricane Helene. Stephanie's workplace at the Biltmore is gone. The hotel they blocked for guests was flooded and also without power and water and cannot take guests. Ryan and Stephanie are not sure yet if the wedding chapel still exists and whether the owner/officiant is safe.
Ryan and Stephanie were "safe" in their apartment; however, all of Asheville had lost power and running water due to the catastrophic failure of the Asheville water mains. While Ryan and Stephanie had stayed the first 48 hours, providing food, water, and support to their neighbors from their refrigerator and freezer, we are so very grateful to Stephanie's family from Nashville for being able to get them out of there to the Nashville area where they have family and friend support. They were able to transport most valuables, though their cars and other belongings remain in Asheville, and they will need to make a trip back to retrieve many things needed now.
Ryan and Stephanie can use financial help due to their relocation, loss of employment, and having to move necessary items such as vehicles away from Asheville. Any amount, even small, will help. They are still in shock from the events of Hurricane Helene, as are most Asheville residents. If you can find it in your heart to donate, I will be so very grateful, as will Ryan, Stephanie, and all of their family members.
