Hi, I’m Toni Pineda-Gabucan, and I’m reaching out on behalf of my nephew, Ruben (Benjeet) Pineda who has been bravely battling stage 3/4 colorectal cancer.
What started as mild stomach pain in June 2023 quickly turned into frequent bathroom trips and sleepless nights. This affected his work and ultimately resulted in job loss, which meant he lost his medical insurance. One night, in severe pain, he drove himself to the ER, where he received the life-changing diagnosis of cancer. Since then, he has gone through chemotherapy, radiation, and surgery just before his 64th birthday in April 2024. He has lost 60 pounds and now manages an ileostomy bag.
Despite all of this, Ruben has shown incredible strength and determination. He’s been working hard to navigate these challenges, but the emotional and financial toll has been significant. Living alone in Orlando, he relies on early Social Security retirement, which doesn’t fully cover his living expenses or medical bills. Right now, We are asking for donations to cover the cost of ongoing treatments and essential expenses, allowing Ruben to focus on recovery rather than financial stress.. he urgently needs a reliable car to get to his medical appointments since public transportation can be unpredictable and exhausting.
That’s why we’re raising funds to help Ruben buy a dependable used car. Having this vehicle would ease his stress and allow him to attend his appointments without worry. Your support—whether through donations, prayers, or sharing this message—will truly make a difference in his life.
Ruben dreams of returning to his job at the Center for Independent Living, where he loved helping the elderly and disabled. With your support, we can turn this into a reality for him. On behalf of our family, we thank you for your kindness and support. Together, we can help Ruben move toward a brighter future!
