Every child deserves the chance to be a kid.
My name is Luci McCormick, and I am a student at the River Academy in Wenatchee, Washington. For my senior thesis project I wanted to choose a topic that stirred passion in my soul. And the passion in my soul was found in my experience working with children in foster care. Not every child has a place to call home. In the United States in 2025 there were roughly 328,000 children in the foster care system and numbers of adoptions continued to decrease from years past. Many of these children move from home to home, family to family, not having a place they can feel safe and loved. They feel unloved, unwanted, and alone, feelings no child should ever have to carry. Royal Family Kids Camp offers foster children something rare. One week where these kids are treated like royalty, a place where they are truly safe, loved, chosen, and cherished. RFKC is an opportunity to show these children the goodness in love and the foundation of hope. To teach them that their stories are not defined by what they have gone through but by hope. Royal Family Kids Camp is a non-profit organization that runs a week long camp for children who are currently in or have been in foster care. RFKC has camps based all around the US and even globally. Our mission here in Wenatchee, Washington serves the children of the Valley and beyond. These children need hope. Help be a part of the solution.
