Hello, my name is Marsha Bonn, and I’m asking for help for someone who would never ask for it herself — my Aunt, Rose Clauser.
In early February 2026, Rose received a letter that changed everything. After decades of stability, she was told she has less than one year to relocate and find a new place to live. The mobile home community she has called home for 17 years, Plateau Village — is closing to make way for new cottages being built by the owners of the property.
Rose moved to Plateau Village in 2009 with the hope of spending her retirement there. It wasn’t just a mobile home to her — it was her safe place, her memories, her future. She has worked at the same law firm for almost 40 years, dedicating her life to hard work and stability. She was finally looking forward to slowing down, enjoying retirement, spending time with family and friends… and doting on her beloved cats.
A few years ago, Rose lost her partner, Marty, from a brain tumor. His passing was heartbreaking, and the home they shared became her anchor — a place filled with memories and comfort. Now, that home is being taken away too.
Her home, built in 1988, cannot be moved. It’s a double-wide, and relocating it would cause it to fall apart. She cannot simply tow it somewhere else. She is being forced to leave it behind entirely to be destroyed. She recently put on a new metal roof, renovated her bathrooms, along with so many other improvements. All of the equity she put into her house will be torn down.
Imagine being at retirement age, after losing your life partner, and being told you must completely uproot your life with less than a year to figure it out — in today’s housing market. Rose is incredibly prideful and independent. She has worked hard her entire life and hates the thought of asking anyone for help. But right now, she needs us more than ever. If you can give anything — truly anything — it will help lighten the burden she is carrying. And if you can’t donate, please consider sharing this page.
Let’s show Rose she is not alone. Let’s help her find stability, safety, and peace again.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for reading, sharing, and supporting.
With gratitude,
Marsha
