Help Rosa Prendergast Fight ALS My name is Daniel Prendergast, and I am reaching out on behalf of my mother, Rosa Prendergast. Rosa has always been a loving, hardworking, and selfless woman who dedicated her life to caring for her family and others. Now, she is facing the toughest challenge of her life. Recently, Rosa was diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord. ALS gradually robs a person of their ability to walk, use their hands, speak, and eventually breathe. There is no cure, and the disease progresses quickly. Over the past year, Rosa’s health has declined dramatically. What started as a limp has now progressed to severe weakness in her arms and legs. She can no longer rise from a chair on her own, has lost much of the use of her hands, and relies on a wheelchair and walker for mobility. She has fallen multiple times, one of which caused a broken arm. Despite her struggles, Rosa continues to fight every day with courage and dignity. The financial burden of ALS is overwhelming. On average, ALS patients face more than $200,000 per year in medical expenses—including medications, mobility aids, home health care, and other critical support that insurance does not fully cover. Our family is facing mounting costs on top of the emotional toll of this disease. We are asking for your help. Every donation—no matter the size—will go directly toward: Medical bills and treatment costs not covered by insurance Home modifications and mobility equipment (wheelchair, lift devices, etc.) Caregiving support and therapy to maintain Rosa’s comfort and quality of life Transportation to and from specialist appointments Your generosity will make a real difference in Rosa’s life and give her the dignity, care, and support she deserves. If you’re not able to donate, sharing this campaign with others is just as powerful. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for standing with Rosa and our family during this difficult time. With gratitude, Daniel Prendergast
