Hello everyone, some of you will know that Bethany Jourden has been in the hospital since August 12th with PROM (Premature rupture of membranes). Her water broke early and she was on bed rest at UCSD until she delivered her beautiful son, Ronin, on September 5th. She is now recovering from a c-section and is due to be discharged by the 8th of September. Ronin was transferred to the NICU at Rady’s Children’s Hospital just hours after birth as he will need brain surgery due to severe hydrocephalus (cerebral fluid build-up on the brain). He is estimated to be in the NICU until mid-October, possibly longer. We are trusting God for a miracle for this little boy to be made completely whole!
This family is trying to navigate what life will look like in this next season with Bethany’s daughter’s, Korra and Kairi, attending school in North County and Ronin having to stay down in San Diego. We are raising money to cover gas and/or accommodation costs for the lots of anticipated back and forth and perhaps staying closer to Ronin on the weekends among potential unforeseen medical bills and other needs that may arise in this season. It is important for NICU babies to bond with their parents as much as possible, which can boost his immunity, growth, and recovery.
Please give what you can and know your prayers for this family during this time are extremely appreciated!
