The GVI Madagascar community has lost a truly valued member of the team, as the beloved groundskeeper Rolland passed away last week after battling illness for 3 months. Rolland has been the warm and friendly heart of the GVI base since it’s opening in 2022, looking after the grounds and everyone on them, and the team and community are deeply saddened by his passing. We know that Rolland was a cherished member of the GVI community, and that his loss will be felt globally by all those that had the pleasure to meet him.

He leaves behind his young wife, Euphrazie, 3 year old daughter Julianna, and 1 year old son Zaidine who are feeling this loss the hardest, and will now struggle without the support and income from their father. We are kindly asking for donations to now support Euphrazie and her children to get them through this very challenging time, and to help the family set themselves up for the future.

This fundraiser has been set up on behalf of his family. For those that have visited Madagascar, you know that life here can be hard. All donations will go directly to the family, helping keep the children in school, buying them clothing and food, maintaining their home and land during the upcoming difficult wet season, and help Euphrazie to build a new business and income stream for herself and her children.
