Support Roland's journey for a Kidney Transplant #TeamRoland
Dear Family & Friends
I am setting up this GoFundMe page for my son Roland. He has a heart of gold and needs a kidney. So we’re going GREEN (color for Kidney Disease awareness) for him. Some of you may know that he has kidney disease, been on dialysis going on 11 years and as of March 17, 2025 was approved to be on the kidney transplant list! On a scale of 1-7 he falls at #1!! Roland has been going to regular dialysis treatments, usually three times a week for four hours at a time and now a transplant would offer him more freedom and the ability to live a longer, healthier, more normal life. A transplant would also give him more time to do the fun things he enjoy most, like spending time with his son, family and friends.
Here's a little glimpse of my son's journey:
Living with Kidney Disease, Roland was diagnosed with kidney disease at age 16, had a transplant from his father which lasted 10 years but was back on dialysis since after the kidney now longer worked for him. Roland partners with multiple organizations to increase organ donor awareness, influence legislation regarding end-stage renal disease, and support fellow kidney disease fighters. Roland also worked with the Make-A-Wish foundation, performed a song that he wrote during for the walk and run to inspire others that dreams can come true. The foundation even wrote an article about him and he was their spokes person after being diagnosed.
While he has been battling he has been a "real-life super hero" encouraging many others in the same situation not to give up hope despite all of the adversities that his been going through. So, I'm asking you to pray about it and consider helping him with a financial contribution. It will assist him in his journey and cover his daily living expenses. Despite all of this he's never asked anyone for anything. He's shows up for treatment with no complaints no matter his level of pain and discomfort he faces.
He is almost to the finish line but, behind the scenes there's a lot that goes on to stay alive. It's emotionally, physically and extremely draining in addition to multiple Fistula surgeries that he has overcome.
He's a living, walking breathing daily testimony of what God can do and has done!!!
I don't know if any of you know the process of getting approval for a transplant but it's a never ending checklist of tests, procedures, etc. but regardless of what it took my son is a fighter and he never EVER gave up!
He has put in the work to make this happen!
That's why we call ourselves "Roland's Rooters"! #TeamRoland
WE LOVE YOU ROLAND!!!
❤️SO Proud of you son
