Twenty years ago, my dad, Roger, underwent bypass surgery — a procedure that gave him a new chance at life. But as doctors have always reminded us, bypass grafts don’t last forever. Sadly, time has caught up, and his heart has now grown very weak.

Recently, what was supposed to be a simple procedure to replace his pacemaker turned into something far more serious. Complications landed my dad in the hospital for three long weeks, where we learned he was now facing end stage heart failure along with low kidney function. Those weeks were incredibly difficult, but by the grace of God, he made it through and is now home, continuing his recovery.

Still, he is not out of the woods yet. His doctors have recommended the next course of action: an LVAD (Left Ventricular Assist Device) — a major open-heart surgery that can help his heart pump stronger and give him more time with his loved ones.

Even though the thought of going through another open-heart surgery is frightening, my dad’s faith in God gives him strength. With courage and trust in the Lord, he is willing to fight one more time — praying for another chance at life, for more days with family, and for the opportunity to share in more memories with those he loves.

With all of this, my parents are going through an incredibly challenging season. While waiting for long-term disability to begin, the financial burden has become heavy. Your support during this time — whether through donations, prayers, or simply sharing his story — would mean the world to them. It would help cover necessary expenses and allow my mom to focus on caring for my dad without the added worry of finances.

As his daughter, I am humbly asking for help on behalf of my parents. I want nothing more than to see my dad have the strength and resources to keep fighting this battle with faith and dignity.

On behalf of my family, we thank you for taking the time to read my dad’s story. We believe in the power of prayer and community, and we know that with God’s grace and the kindness of others, my dad will have the strength to keep going.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your prayers, generosity, and compassion. May God bless you for the love and support you share.
