Support for Rod’s Family During a Difficult Transition

Hello,

This is one of the hardest requests we’ve ever had to make, but it’s a necessary step for our family during this incredibly challenging time. As many of you may know, my stepdad, Rod, passed away last week after suffering a stroke last year.

Rod was the epitome of selflessness—he worked tirelessly to provide for his family and was always ready to lend a hand to anyone in need, even when he didn’t have much. He was the type of person who would give the shirt off his back to help others.

When Rod had his stroke, we all held out hope for his recovery. Unfortunately, after months of struggles and therapy, it became clear that his condition was not improving. He was eventually placed on hospice care, and my mom and sister stepped up to care for him every day as he became unable to do even the simplest things for himself. Over the last few months, his health declined rapidly, and we began to understand that we were losing the cornerstone of our family.

Now, in the wake of Rod’s passing, my mom and sister have lost their primary source of income. My brother and I are doing our best to support them financially, but it's been incredibly difficult. My sister is actively looking for work, but as most jobs require online applications and the hiring process takes time, it’s been slow. My mom, unfortunately, cannot work due to health concerns, so the financial burden has fallen to us.

We are reaching out to ask for any support that could help us bridge this gap as they transition into a new phase of life. We need assistance to cover rent and bills for the next couple of months while my sister secures a job and we prepare to find a roommate for the house.

It breaks my heart that we have to focus on logistics when we’re still grieving the loss of such an important person in our lives, but we are trying to stay strong and move forward.
