Rochester Greenovation has been saving items from the landfill for 12 years but we are currently not fully open and operating because our building isn't up to code.
We made an arrangement with our landlord for reduced rent for a few months while we fixed up the building but as with any project, more unforeseen complications kept arising. We have been working for over a year to get this building ready.
New lighting in the firm of retrofitted shop lights that are now LED compliant, fixed drain pipe that was leaving water on the floor, fixed and replaced over 35 window panes, added LED lighting, filled in the pocketed concrete floor, fixed exterior doors so they function, deconstructed a 30x32x18 foot cooler, cleaned up debris including bricks, cover block pieces, and overgrown brush from an adjacent parking lot, built a wall that is 20 feet tall and 45 long, built a second wall that is 20' tall and 30' long, installed an additional emergency exit in a cover block wall, tore down a dilapidated awning, and cleaned and cleaned and cleaned among many other things. All as volunteers and paying a few professionals when it was outside our scope.
Want to join me in making a difference? I'm raising money to benefit Rochester Greenovation Inc, and any donation will help make an impact. Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me.
