Help My Dad, Rob, with His Parkinson’s Diagnosis

Hi everyone,

I’ve created this GoFundMe for my dad, Rob, who is one of the most hardworking and selfless people you’ll ever meet. SHHHH don’t tell him, I want to surprise him and I am not sure he would like me asking for help. For those who know him, you know that he would give the shirt off his back to help anyone in need, and he never asks for help himself because he never wants to burden anyone.

Over the past year, we've noticed a significant change in my dad's health. After numerous tests and a long wait, we were heartbroken to learn that he has been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. This has been incredibly difficult for our family to process.

My dad has always been the person who’s always working on the yard, fixing things around the house, maintaining cars, helping friends, family, and neighbors, coaching his grandkids, and training for 5Ks and half marathons. To see him slow down and struggle with simple tasks is devastating, and it’s been a heavy blow for all of us.

Parkinson’s disease is a progressive condition that affects movement and mental health. It doesn’t have a cure, but treatment and medications can help manage the symptoms. As his condition progresses, he can no longer do many of the things he loves, and it's been tough watching him face that reality.

I’m asking for your help to ease some of his burdens. The funds raised will go towards paying for help to finish the projects around his home that he can no longer do himself. My dad is stubborn and still wants to take care of everything on his own, but it worries me, and I want to make sure he’s not burdened with those tasks. The money will also help cover expenses that insurance doesn't, as well as the increasing costs of his care.

I know everyone has their own challenges, and asking for help is not easy, but if you’re able to donate, it would mean the world to us. Even if you can’t donate, sharing this and sending positive thoughts and prayers as we navigate this difficult journey would be greatly appreciated.
