Going on a family trip should be full of fun and relaxation, not hospital visits and specialists. Recently, Robin went to Maui to spend quality time with her family; however, shortly into the trip, she ended up hospitalized with serious medical complications.

At first, she was experiencing extreme leg pain and was unable to walk. This quickly escalated to fainting and a fall, resulting in being rushed to the hospital just a couple of days into the trip. After extensive testing and scans, it was discovered that not only does she have a pulmonary embolism, but another in her leg as well. Luckily, she has gotten the needed treatments and care, but she is unable to return home until her condition has reached a less dangerous level in a minimum of 4 weeks.

The cost of travel to Hawaii is already a major expense, but the cost of quadrupling the stay is another story. The cost of a rental car and a place to reside has already totaled over $7, 000, let alone food, household supplies and medical bills. Of course, Robin is well supported by everyone in her family, but costs are exorbitant.
