Hello, my name is Robby Hilliard Jr. From the beginning, my mother gave birth to me when she was 15 years old. She worked so hard to complete high school on time, graduated college with her AA in Registered Nursing, and she worked 3 jobs which enabled us to buy our home in 2005. Unable to make our payments in 2008, we attempted to get a loan modification but were scammed out of our money. This forced us into our first of many bankruptcies. Later, the stress and politics of the hospitals my mother was working at resulted in her losing her RN license she honored and worked hard for, getting revoked in 2015! She has done everything required of the Board of Registered Nursing to get reinstated and return to work. She put everything on credit cards, did random drug testing, sometimes twice a week, paid for her license each year when it was due, petitioned during the pandemic, paid those fees but still revoked. Until 2023, she was hired; the hospital she got hired at agreed that she deserved a second chance. When the Board of Registered Nursing received this information, they extended my mother’s probation for another 4 months. That hospital rescinded the offer and stated they didn’t have the budget to make that accommodation. My mother continued to look for a hospital that would accommodate her probation period. One night, she saw a poster at a red light that said, “Get your CNA in 6 Weeks,” free training! My mother applied, went to classes/convalescence hospitals at least 5am-7pm, miles away from home to obtain her certification. The first hospital she applied for, she was hired. However, unknown to her, the Board of Nursing placed her name on a suspension list that was unknown to her. She was told she would have to wait 6 months to get her name removed. Later, my mother petitioned for her name to be removed, and it was. But, the job was not waiting for her. She has been caring for my younger brother and younger sister who are both autistic but are dealing with schizophrenia and seizures. My mother is so amazing that she is still fighting to get her RN license back, still looking for work as a CNA, she also got her cosmetology license, so she does hair, and now she is working on becoming a general contractor on residential and commercial properties. Her plan is to become a real estate developer and start her business with my uncle.

Sadly, I’m doing this GoFundMe to save our home we’ve owned since 2005. Through real estate depreciation, job loss, the pandemic, my siblings' new diagnosis and disabilities, we remained strong as a family. I’ve been on my job since 2002; I’ve never left my mother’s side. I pretty much took on the responsibility of trying to save our home. All my money goes to paying our mortgage and filing for bankruptcy to pay our past due payments. I understand generational wealth, and one day I will have to care for my siblings. My mother taught me very well about faith, family, and work. I’m here till the end, but reaching out for help and support to save our family home. We need the amount of our past due debt to become current so we don’t lose our home this month; the end of May is our auction date. Give what you can, and God bless you, your family, and your friends!
