Support Rob and Christy After Theft in Lodge Lot
Donation protected
Hello Ballard Elks Paddle Club Community. Past club president Ted here. We're helping Rob and Christy replace property stolen from their vehicle in the Lodge 827 parking lot while they were volunteering to run our race night this week.
Rob and Christy have long supported the foundations of our club's operations and are at the heart of our community. It's no surprise that, when they saw that nobody had signed up to lead registration and timekeeping for our race on 7/7/2025, they hurried back from a vacation in Canada so that Christy could support the club as registrar and timekeeper, heading down to the lodge without even stopping at home first. All their stuff from their trip was still in their car in the lodge parking lot while Christy made it possible for the race to run, and Rob volunteered as leader of the social paddle. By the time they left the lodge, their back window had been smashed and several bags were gone.
Insurance has covered their glass repair, so this collection will be going straight to Rob and Christy to offset the replacement cost of a laptop, clothes, and some beloved personal effects that were taken.
Our club exists because of the spaces, programming, and traditions that a modest number of volunteers have created over many years. Helping cover this loss for a couple of our members who have contributed the most is the right thing to do. I sincerely appreciate you joining me with a contribution.
