Support for Sensory Corner – Eagle Scout Service Project
Hi, my name is Rishi Ram, and I’m a Life Scout with Troop 23, currently working on my Eagle Scout Service Project. For this milestone, I’ve chosen to design and install a Sensory Corner for a local preschool that serves children from diverse backgrounds and abilities.
What is a Sensory Corner?
A sensory corner is a small, dedicated space that provides calming and engaging sensory input. It helps children—especially those with autism, ADHD, or sensory processing challenges—regulate their emotions, refocus, and feel safe. These spaces benefit all young children by supporting emotional development, reducing stress, and encouraging positive behavior. Furthermore, this project helps children in preschool develop their fine motor skills, including abilities such as hand-eye coordination.
Why This Project?
The preschool I’m partnering with is passionate about creating a nurturing and inclusive environment, but like many early childhood programs, they have limited funding for specialized tools like sensory equipment. By creating a sensory corner, we’ll be giving both teachers and children a valuable resource they can use every day.
What Will the Donations Be Used For?
All funds raised will go directly toward materials for the sensory corner, including:
Sensory Mats (texturized mats for kids to play with)
Busy Boards
Sensory wall panels (textures, colors, mirrors)
Calming items (bubble tubes, tactile toys, weighted items)
Flooring or mats for a safe, cozy setup
Storage and organization solutions
Tools and materials for construction and installation
Our Goal
We aim to raise $ 1,250 to cover the full cost of the project. Any amount you can contribute will help make a difference. If you’re not able to donate, sharing this campaign with friends and family is a huge help, too!
Thank You
This project is an important part of my journey to becoming an Eagle Scout, and I’m excited to use it as a way to give back to the community. Thank you so much for your support in helping create a space where children can feel calm, supported, and ready to learn.
Sincerely,
Rishi Ram
